Chad Phillip Bouchard, D.O.
Ophthalmic Associates
Chad P. Bouchard, D.O. is a board certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist, cataract and refractive surgeon who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of a multitude of eye diseases. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and treats patients with various ocular conditions, such as routine and complex cataract surgery, medical and surgical glaucoma, pterygium, strabismus, corrective eyelid surgery, and vision threatening eye emergencies. He holds multiple ophthalmic certifications and performs a wide variety of advanced vision correcting procedures, such as WaveLight Allegretto Wave EyeQ laser, VISX Customvue LASIK, iFS Advanced IntraLase bladeless LASIK, ORA system with Verifeye technology, as well as Glaukos iStent and Ab Interno Canaloplasty minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries. Furthermore, he specializes in premium intraocular lens implants (Acrysof IQ ReSTOR Multifocal and Toric lenses, TECNIS Symfony and Toric extended range of vision lenses).
Dr. Bouchard received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maine - Fort Kent. He graduated from medical school at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and was selected for the F. Edward Hebert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program. Following a medical internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, he performed a general medical officer tour with 110th Chemical Battalion at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Madigan Army Medical Center and served as Chief Resident during his final year of training. Dr. Bouchard has also participated on eye surgical humanitarian missions with the military to Honduras and the Dominican Republic. He completed his active duty service obligation as a Major in the US Army and was assigned to the 673rd Medical Group at JBER.
Dr. Bouchard is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and was hand selected by the academy to serve as an Advocacy Ambassador. He holds memberships with the American Osteopathic Association and the Alaska Ophthalmology Society.
He resides in Eagle River with his wife, Whitney, and their daughter Aspen. During his free time, he enjoys all that Alaska has to offer; particularly, cycling, skiing, hiking, and fly fishing.
Jason Dashow, M.D.
Alaska Center for Oral and Facial Surgery
Dr. Jason Dashow completed his cleft & craniofacial surgical fellowship at LSU Hospital, in Shreveport, Louisiana in 2017, receiving subspecialized training in correction of pediatric facial anomalies. He graduated the dual-degree, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery/MD program at the University of Michigan 2015. In addition to this training, Dr. Dashow completed a general surgery internship at the University of Michigan in 2014. Prior to his surgical training, he completed anesthesia training at the University of Michigan in 2011 and received a dental degree from the University of Washington in 2009.
Although pediatric craniofacial surgery is a highlight of Dr. Dashow’s practice, additional clinical interests include corrective jaw surgery, sleep apnea surgery, minimally invasive TMJ treatment, facial trauma and pathology reconstruction.
Dr. Dashow has numerous peer-reviewed publications pertaining to facial pathology and pediatric craniofacial anomalies. Of note, his manuscript titled, “Keratocystic Odontogenic Tumor Recurrence Rates with Enucleation and Curettage Using Carnoy’s Versus Modified Carnoy’s Solution” was a featured article in the American Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in November 2015. His chapter in the acclaimed Peter Ward Booth textbook entitled, “Surgical Management of Craniosynostosis” was published in fall of 2016. Dr. Dashow is an active member and regular forum speaker at the annual American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Association meeting.
Charles David Hightower, M.D.
Enhance Orthopedic Surgery, LLC
Dr. Hightower was born in Fairbanks, Alaska and grew up in Anchorage. He attended school at Hanshew Junior High and graduated from Service High. Dr. Hightower grew up rock climbing, hiking and fishing around Alaska. He studied art and psychology before starting his career in medicine. He met his wife Mollie, a fellow Alaskan, while they lived in New York City. He graduated from Western Washington University, Columbia University, and then University of Minnesota for medical school and residency. Returning home to Alaska in 2012 with his wife and four kids, he joined the team at the Alaska Native Medical Center.
Dr. Hightower’s emphasis at Alaska Native was general orthopedics, meeting the needs for trauma, joint replacement, sports, hand and foot surgery. He is most passionate caring for the entire spectrum of knee conditions from ranging youth and sports injuries to arthritis. He also has an emphasis in sports injuries to the hand, foot and ankle. Dr. Hightower served as the Chief of the Orthopedic Surgery Department at ANMC for just over 4 years focusing on quality improvement and trauma access.
As he is venturing out into his own practice, he is excited to offer orthopedic services to the wider audience in Anchorage.
